“There are days when I wake up
More forest moss than human.
After dreaming all night
In the wilds
I come back to my human form
And have to rebuild myself anew.
Why does my back hurt?
Woah. I have a back.
And fingers.
How do they work again…?
This is why my mornings are
Sometimes a little slow,
A little vacant behind the eyes.
I’m remembering again
How to human.”
